Eclipsys Recognizes Six Healthcare Organizations
At the recent EUN Outcomes Conference, Eclipsys was pleased to present 2009 Circle of Excellence Awards to six client organizations which successfully documented strategies that maximized the value from the use of Eclipsys’ healthcare information technology to enable rapid adoption of computerized physician order entry (CPOE), improved care processes and enhanced business performance. Each winning organization received a $2,000 grant for its foundation or charity of choice.
2009 AMDIS Awards Given to Two Eclipsys Clients
The Association of Medical Directors of Information Systems (AMDIS) has presented two of its 2009 awards to Eclipsys clients: Michael Dominguez, medical informatics officer at University Health System, San Antonio, TX, and Steve Margolis, chief medical informatics officer at Orlando Health, Orlando, FL. The awards recognize accomplishments in advancing the application of information systems and computer technology to the practice of medicine.
Client Named 2009 Premier Top Performing Hospital
Eclipsys clinical client Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian, Newport Beach, CA, was among fewer than two dozen U.S. health providers recognized in June 2009 with the Award for Quality by Premier, Inc., a healthcare alliance dedicated to boosting care while cutting costs. The award recognizes leading healthcare organizations that efficiently provide outstanding patient care and consistently set the standard in clinical excellence nationwide. Hoag uses the Eclipsys Sunrise Clinical Manager Enterprise Platform as its clinical information system.
HIMSS Awards Honor Industry Leaders from Eclipsys Client Organizations
HIMSS, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, recognized this past year's 50 outstanding industry leaders and organizations during its Awards and Recognition Banquet on April 4, 2009. Among the winners were two Eclipsys clients: Patricia Skarulis, vice president and chief information officer at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, recipient of the HIMSS John E. Gall Jr. CIO of the Year Award; and Feliciano Yu, MD, MSHI, MSPH, CPHIMS, medical informaticist at Children’s Health System in Birmingham, AL, recipient of the Outstanding Special Interest Group Member Award.

Piedmont Receives Next-Generation Clinical Care Award at WHIT 2008
Piedmont Hospital, Atlanta, GA, received the Health Data Management Editor's Choice Award for Next-Generation Clinical Care at the 4th Annual World Healthcare Innovation and Technology Congress (WHIT) held December 2008 in Washington, DC. The multi-site community healthcare organization, which has achieved 100% CPOE adoption of Sunrise Clinical Manager, was the recipient of one of only five awards presented in various categories at the WHIT congress. The award "pays tribute to the organization making best use of these new tools to provide life-saving intelligence at the point of care.
