Sunrise Emergency Care helps us most with the handoffs that take place in the Emergency Department from one provider to another during shift changes, so we utilize the system as a foundation when rounds are taking place. So typically a team or the handoff provider will gather in front of the tracking board and look at all the patients and all the data that's available for those patients at the time of the handoff. We also do keep information about the admitting physician and the patient's bed, so we have location information easily available as the patient makes that transition to a bed upstairs in the hospital. The other advantage of the tracking board is that it allows the consulting physicians and the admitting physicians to come into the department, quickly find their patient, find out what the status is and then perform their medical decision making, write their notes, put the orders in, etc.
